i just watched that episode of sex and the city when carey runs into aidan (on the street) years after they broke up (due to her infidelity) and he has a baby and is happily married. he was the only guy she dated that was genuinely a great catch and she fucked it up. but he bounced back and was happy and is a really good place while she was on her way to a date who would break up with her less than a year later through a post-it note. if she had only stayed with him, she may have been married with a kid but i don't think it fit what she really wanted which is why she self-sabotaged herself. and she always went for the wrong guy...always. which is why she ended up with mr. big. in the end, he committed to her but he dragged her through the mud on many occasions and he always played mind games with her. he only wanted her when she was in a relationship and she was trying to move forward which is why she fucked things up with aidan when she slept with big and aidan found out. it just reminds me that sometimes we have great people in our lives and we shouldn't fuck it up because we're scared or it's not what we pictured.
